Ok, it's not that I like sarcasm or anything, but the challenge of working out how to format text on an Android device intrigued me. For those of you willing to put extra time/effort simply to be sarcastic amongst your mates, this is it:
I. Type your text then tap and hold.
II. Go into your settings - normally top right corner, three dots arranged vertically.
III. Scroll down and select 'toggle to desktop view.
IV. BINGO - text formatting buttons appear above your text window just as they would on your home monster box monitor.
V. Ok, same thing - tap and select your text that you want to format in italics (or whatever) and do the job on it.
For the life of me I don't understand the need to be sarcastic - perhaps all those cheap ABC primetime shows that seem to drown in sarcasm have glorified the vernacular where everyone sounds like a grumpy old fella. Fair enough, but if blokes like Davo are cruising down the freeway after work posting up on DL, don't take both hands off the wheel to format your text - just save yourself the bother and avoid sarcasm until you get home.
sent from my cagey, but now as smart as FDB's iPhoney, Charlie Pickering Android device hunched over the screen in some park somewhere
