Now I know Liberatore could possibly get a week for his treatment of Sunny Walters, his dad would have been proud, but is Nat Fyfe in trouble for the clip on Richards?? Based on Richards' continued presence on the ground and showing no ill effects it would have to be classed as low impact but Luke Darcy was really pushing for it to be assessed and we know how unpredictable Michael Christian is with his assessments. I think a fine at best or assessed as not hard enough contact to warrant a penalty but I'm still a bit worried.

Cunnington got off with a fine (2 seperate fines in fact), with his shot on Ebert the other night, which saw Ebert spend a good amount of time off the ground seeing stars. That somehow got classed as low impact. Plus, he already has 2019 history for his hit on Wilson. Based on that, if Fyfe’s isn’t completely thrown out, I’d be asking for a sizeable please explain...

That's amazing! The elbow on Ebert was clearly intentional and Cunnington must be some protected species and possibly related to Christian based on the preferential treatment he's receiving. Also makes Duman's penalty ridiculous due to no ill effects by Whitfield. How can this be low impact if Ebert was sent from the field in a dazed state?

Just another example of the AFL using arbitrary and subjective rules to enable them to achieve the end result they want. They will use the Cunnington precedent to get Liberatore off with a fine, and the Martin/Mcdonald precedent to give Fyfe 2 weeks.

The way I saw it Fyfe had eyes only for the ball. Richards used his head to win a free kick.
Other than that, I'd be surprised if its even mentioned.

How, after Duman got 2 weeks, reduced to one week on appeal for his actions last week, does Liberatore get away with a fine????

Fyfe had eyes only for the ball? Good Lord he couldn't see the ball. He elected to bump and got him high. He'll get a fine cause thankfully contact was negligible.

I want him to win more Brownlow's and us a flag. In order to achieve both he has to start putting long stretches of games together.

He's got to stop doing this. Every year. What's bloody Cunnington got to do with it?

No case to answer

Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe is free to face Adelaide this weekend after Match Review Officer Michael Christian declared he had no case to answer for his bump.

Fyfe faced a nervous wait after a hit on Western Bulldogs youngster Ed Richards, which resulted in a free kick for high contact.

But the Dockers star didn’t even warrant a mention among the cases cited or assessed when the league released its findings this afternoon.

Hypen - I originally mentioned the Cunnington contact, as it was similar to Fyfe’s but worse - he was contesting the ball, raised an elbow which resulted in high contact, the player came off dazed, yet he got away with a fine. Based on that, and not a punch etc. which they are cracking down on harder, and previous precedence set, I suggested Fyfe shouldn’t even have a case to answer which he didn’t. So it seemed the Cunnington precedent was probably fairly reasonable to compare in this case...

Fair enough Jayvee. On Fyfe and I've noticed this before, a couple of near misses preceed a suspension.

'A couple of near misses preceed a fine' ....... Not in Cunnington's case, this is his 4th or 5th
