I’ve sunk my proverbial boots into this club on many occasions but tonight just showed that they do some things extremely well.
One of the best Len Hall / ANZAC tributes the club has done in my opinion.
I won’t forget the celebration and recognition of Mundy either - an absolute belter for an absolute champion.

We were always going to win and mostly Freo took the game one but I thought we lairised a bit with over confidence early and lost some momentum and the mutts played quite well considering. Fyfe looked sore and I still think three tall forwards might be a stretch too far against certain sides. Plenty of good efforts. All up 7/10 - can do better.

It wasn’t pretty but there were some beautiful moments. Magic Mundy moments.
I’m at home now watching it again. So much easier to watch it knowing the outcome.
I thought the cheering put Mundy off in the first quarter, he’s used to going under the radar.
Matera was annoyingly good. I don’t know why but I’m having trouble warming to him. The name, maybe.
The old veteran who said the oath was awesome.

The old bloke was Bill Grayden. Ninety eight years old, a Kokoda Track vet and for 43 years a member of state and federal parliaments.

Never agreed with his politics, but full of awe and respect for him. That was the finest, most emotional Ode I’ve ever heard. Congratulations to the club - so proud to see the Len Hall Game back up as the BEST ANZAC commemoration in the AFL.

Ball handling in general was a treat but that was the worst ball drop for a 55 m goal ever.

But Mundy is just great. That’s all. Just great.

The disrespect of the field ump going for the score review on his long bomb was gross.

I went to primary school with one of Bill Grayden's daughters. Good to see him battle through the oath. Shame the announcer called him William (yes, I know that is his name, but I imagine no one except his Mum ever called him that).

Bill's ode was the best from a swag of ANZAC ceremonies before the games this week - it put you exactly in the space that it was meant to.

As an aside, i knew i was in trouble when my Mam called me Pollyanna - like Hypen is whenever he gets called Hypenation.

The whole night was terrific. The 50 buglers were good too.
We should have the Len Hall game actually ON Anzac Day though. Let Coll and Ess do their thing in the afternoon and then us (versus whoever) have a game at night.
