Hmmm, I’m still on the fence about booing Neale. I’m probably 60/40 against booing him, but it wouldn’t take much in the game to swing it.

Footy is largely pantomime. A good boo goes alright sometimes.

Davo: a flog is someone who deliberately tells the Freo faithful something while taking the Doig medal that they all accept on face value because they trust the bloke and his word - then he 'effs off to the sunshine state with his missus. Sure, with Steve and RoLy I totally understand his motives, smart fella.

Turncoat, a solid Polly boo - Crozier, a heartfelt welcome back clap.

I'm still a bit hazy on the true definition of the word 'flog'.
Those who use it frequently seem to have an excellent understanding of it's definition and the correct context to use it. Alas, I'm still struggling. Seems a bit arbitrary to me

I think many on here would be quick to change their assessment on which players are and arent 'flogs' had they seen them in metros on a Saturday night after a win

There's hardly any ex-players who've left Freo and then criticised the club in the press.
There does seems to be a respect, grudging or otherwise, for the club that helped to develop them.
In turn, I'm always pleased to see an ex-Docker - like Crozier - who didn't quite make it as a first team regular here, for whatever reason, go onto become successful at another club.
Booing these blokes when they return"home" is just wrong. They ought to be warmly welcomed back, like old mates who've left town for better opportunities.
Unless their new team wins, of course.

On the other hand, booing umpires should be mandatory.

Morgan - must give you great comfort having Eddie McGuire and Michael Voss in your corner...

On the other hand, why would you boo someone like Tommy Sheridan? It kind of legitimises some kind of previous attachment, which for me at least, wasn't there.

Last night's game kind of highlighted something else - both Pollack and Pittard got booed fairly consistently throughout the game. Far more hurtful, at least I would've thought, were the resounding cheers for Pittard's clangers and turnovers - they loved it and the cheers kind of legitimised dumping him at the end of last year - and I reckoned he got that loud and clear.

So, what you’re saying, Polly, is: boo Neale, sure, but make certain to cheer Hogan and Lobbe good and loud?

Crowley tweeted that the Freo crowd's standing ovation when he was injured in that last game had meant the world to him. Freo crowds do that sort of thing. We aren't WCE grubs.

Yep, I think we all cheered him when he took to the ground too and everytime he got hold of the ball.

But I would give a very loud cheer everytime Lachie Weller got tackled, drops a mark or misses a handball. My basic rule, if it's a Lachie: boo relentlessly yet cheer the mistakes with glee.

I’d forgotten about the send off we gave Creepy. It’s been an emotional night and that isn’t helping!

You can't orchestrate that reaction for Crowley.

And that's why it's one of the greatest sporting memories of my life.

I would expect nothing less from Freo supporters.

I won't boo Neale, loved him too much. Hope he realises what he gave up when he sees the accolades for Mundy - he may get 300 but not for one club.
