I suggested inconsistent, not unfair. Duman's mistake was obviously to slap Whitfield's big, fat head, not his gut, because under the cock-eyed, slanted match review system, that's only worth $2000, at worst. What really annoys is that in round 1, the severe and unprovoked punch to Wilson's midriff was classed as low impact, because, the MRP said, Wilson stayed on the ground and played on (in clear discomfort), whereas Whitfield instigated the biffo off the ball, got himself clouted around the ear for being annoying, but stayed on the field, unhurt and unfazed. After 5 rounds of footy, there's been plenty of similar inconsistencies highlighted by the media. So why is the Duman incident anyway different than all the others that only received fines? The system is rubbish.
