RM much of the time we were still going the long bomb, a tactic that the radio jocks were saying played into GWS hands; until Tabs and Hogan got going. then, they had to commit more numbers to prevent them marking, which left a lot of room for Matera, Switz and co to get out the back and do what they do best. The narrative soon changed to 'it is an efficient way to goal, so why not'. It's hard to be too concerned when these 2 bulls are rampaging across the forward line like that, but I'm left wondering if we still need a better plan B for delivery if that doesn't work. I guess for me I think we're better than just blue-collar.
I like what Conyer and Coyca bring to the team just quietly, Conca is hard at it and is quick to the ball in the midfield, they both don't allow their opponent an easy kick. Neither does Brayshaw, and wIth other small-mediums like Cerra, , and Switz and Brandon in the forward half, the team is stifling the opposition's best kicks, and the game plan of good teams.

Conyer and Colca, Coyla and Concyer, whatever.
At least with Duke Webland v Les Headster, you knew exactly which was which.

Capsnooze, my biggest gripe is that we are still playing the boundary line. J Brown said yesterday that too many coaches these days believe the best way to play the ball into your forward line is to hug the boundary and force stoppages. He rightly said this has always been a Lyon ploy. The reason being he claims, is that it allows you to set up to stop the opposition getting an easy goal. He rightly said, when the ball is 30 meters from your goal and 160 meters from your opponents goal, you should be trying to kick goals yourself, not be worrying about how to stop your opponent kicking goals. He makes a lot of sense for a special comments man on TV. Maybe he is wasted in his day job.

RM yes JB bemoaned Freo as predictable. He's right. Actually not much has changed except in 2019 we have depth of strong players capable of executing predictability well! And, getting much more ball in the midfield

I think it depends which of our players is kicking the ball into the forward line. I don’t see Mundy, Walters and Hogan hugging the boundary line. I think that when JB spoke it was Taberner kicking the ball to the boundary line. I think it is risky for him aiming to pass it into the guts although he may well have been trying to do that, judging by his kicks for goal.

No, no no Zorro, Munday, Walters and Hogan are a local law firm specialising in turf wars. Very goal oriented and quite forward thinking. As opposed to that other firm Pearce, Hamling and Wilson. Backward lot but quite good for the defence.
