I was unsure of Conca, but I reckon he has brought as a hard edge to our utility player. Other utilities are fellows like Brayshaw and Cerra. They need time to develop into hard-bodied midfilelders. Conca fills the gap now and has done his job well.

Fair point Merc but id like to see Banfield playing that roll before Conca. I think the club feels like they have to play Conca as he was brought in as a free agent to justify the investment. Banfield has way more upside and deserves a spot in the 22 before Conca in my opinion.

When we added Conca I posted how cutthroat AFL is when you think Suban was a couple of years older but same type and size player.

I have been impressed.

The howler vs the Eagles was an absokute shocker but he often looks in the corridor and gets us going forward and through other teams zones (rather than around) and he nails the correctly weighted kick to a bloke in traffic and in middle of opposition defensive zones. Looks easy but is bloody hard to hit.

Also think his ‘value’ is enhanced by bring IP / intel from what was working at Richmond while he was there.

I still miss Matt DB though.

Conca's kicking and disposal is pretty horrible, even under no pressure. He probably gets away with more poor disposals under pressure as he just throws it on the boot. Banfield should play in his role.
