TOPIC: Freo v The Giants

Inconceivably, Freo looked the fitter team out there.

And Lyon’s team looked coached better than the other bloke’s today.

And final quarter kicking efficiency of 85%. Ridiculous!

Dear God, let the cold months of June and July not change this as it has for 23 of the 24 years before.

I feel the better your formation the less hard kicks you need to make and the better your disposal efficiency. I liked our field position today. It gave them confidence and they aspired to kick goals.

And yes I think Lyon did a great job today.

6 6 6 rule helped us today I think. Stopped Lyon putting 8 blokes behind the ball after we got 18 points up in the last. Rather than defending for the last 20 minutes we were forced to attack, and look what happened!!

Here here, Monkey, I loved that we continued to attack right up until the last two minutes. Taberner is coming of age people - he's always had the capacity to "clunk" contested grabs, and if he hones his goal kicking the sky's the limit!!

I haven't enjoyed a win to the degree I enjoyed that one for a loooong time! Happy Easter Dockerlanders!!!!!

That might even 'slide the door' shut on beady-eyed Barrett for a week!

Good 'stay on task' win, and importantly, everyone made valuable contributions. Think everyone turned up today, Cox can be excused for 1st game back, maybe Willo is still a bit "down".

"Effort" was the thing that stood out today - so Roly - "Well done to you Sir!"

Thought the forward line was better with just the 2 big blokes in there....seemed to give Hogs and Tabs the space they need.

But geez, we'd have won by 10 goals if we can somehow crack "efficient" ball movement....we make is so hard for ourselves!!

Back up next week against the Bulldogs in Mundy's 300th is an absolute must - simpley to honour this bloke. - but 4 from 6 is where Roly needs to be.

And, get there - with blokes returning and a bit more "gelling" - and, well, much is possible!!

Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, just spent some time on the ladder predictor. I crunched the numbers thoroughly, considered all possible results, including potential reports, injuries, and missed flights. I have us beating the Pies in the GF by much more than the Slappers did.

I'd like to also make note of the lady umpire today.

Except for a couple of ordinary centre bounces, I thought she did an excellent job. Im sorry I do not know the umpires name.

I'd be happy to have her umpiring us each week , rather than some of the knuckleheads we normally get....

Seems to have a good understanding of the rules, and used discretion where needed. Its a rarity these days, and its an absolute rarity that one can say that about an AFL umpire.

Thought she showed the other 2 blokes up today, actually...

I totally agree, Cletus. I thought the umpires went largely unnoticed today. I have no idea who they were, and was not compelled to find out. A rare thing. Well done Umps!
