Worthwhile whacking in your browser if you want to remember the good old days.

Never forget the derby Eagles tough guy Beau Waters lined wide-open Matty up and went WHACK!! Beau still can’t work out how it was him ended up on the ground hurting everywhere. No-one told him you could break your arm just walking past The Pig.

If Jeff was the Purple Jesus, Matt was the Purple Moses - the man who parted the Waters.

Is that "former supposedly tough guy" Beau Waters you are talking about, Zorro?

Didn’t he break some big dude’s entire skeleton with his hip in a marking contest once? Help me out here.

Nathan Bock broke his leg on De Boer's ribs once. De Boer didn't even flinch. Hence he was known by us from then on as the Steel Pig.

So Femantle isn't it. Here we are reminiscing about the only hard nut we've had in the last ten years..........and we effin well got rid of him, and got nothing in return for him in the bargain.

Idiots!

Always remember that moment Zorro when de Pig laid out “hard man” Waters.
I was always baffled why Freo decided to dump three honest, hard-working, loyal and hard at the ball in-and-under midfielders like de Boer, Mzungu and Barlow all at the the same time.
What would we give for a tough-as-nails tagger like MDB now?

Oh and he was also intelligent and had the best hair. ( Female supporter’s perspective)

Id like to think that Matty had a deep down with RoLy, complaining about RoLys crap gameplan, and his complete & utter gobbledeggok...then told RoLy to 'stick it'.!!

That would be the more reasonable explanation why he left...

I would have kept de Boer (and think I said that at the time) but at the point we let him go we were lacking foot speed and people who could penetrate with their kicking.

He’s found a perfect situation in GWS and all credit to both parties, but I don’t think it was a mistake by Freo. We basically get the same output from Bailey Banfield but who is 8 years younger, and who could turn out to be a better player.

To be fair, Matty the Pig couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel and the default position for Fremantle supporters now is to bemoan our lack of skill.

Also, he has had soft-tissue-injury restricted seasons for the last two seasons and I believe we are now meant to spend those moments when we are not bagging the skills, complaining about our ridiculous number of soft tissue injuries.

It's bit like the "Just kick i!t"/"How many turnovers?" trap.

Weird to get rid of, at the same time, all three of the amazing men whose gut running, heart and ferocity enabled the Freo iteration of Rossball to actually work, but I am sure would have found a way to whinge about keeping them on.

Just dispose it by foot!

Where were the players forward of the ball?!

"Elect to dispose of it by foot!"

"Transition it using foot skills!"
