There has been a depressing sameness to all our recent derby losses. The same players kill us every time. The team then doubles down on doing the same thing despite it being very clear, usually by quarter time, where the game is headed.
We will kick it high and long so that McGovern can mark/spoil it.
Yeo will be left alone to run amok through the middle.
Kennedy will kick 5 or 6 and Darling a few.
Hurn will bomb it long all day long.
Generally it is their key position players that kill us, but their field kicking is first rate and they pick us apart. Our kicking is not good.
It’s hard to predict anything but a nasty loss. I would just like to see the players instructed to kick it flat and hard into the forward line to negate McGovern if he gets on top (he will). Play Hogan or Lobb out of the square. There is such low expectations that we will win that Lyon should just try something completely different. Play backs up forward. Put Matera at full back. When it all starts turning to crap just play around with things for crying out loud and do something different.
