Ryan is so good at reading the ball in the air. Lyon challenged him to take the game on a bit more once he got the ball, and I think there is some evidence of him having a bit more confidence in that regard (the hair alone suggests a bit more confidence).
I agree Hypen that we have the makings of an elite backline that complements each other very well. I think to be a truly elite backline we probably still need a lock-down defender for the quicker small forwards, and someone who can play on the mid-sized forwards (or both).
Logue is the real wildcard. I have no idea if he can play, but if he can he could slot in nicely.
But there are two things I’m a bit curious about: what has happened to Wilson this year – he seems down for some reason – and why are we playing Conca in the backline when we are crying out for midfielders and we seem to have a few spare young halfback types? It’s a bit of a head-scratcher.
