I can offer more selective stats too. You would think a bloke who has 7 years in the AFL should be far better than a kid who has played 2 seasons while he was 18 and 19.
Cox has better career average score involvements (4.7 to 3.8), forward 50 tackles (1 to 0.8), disposals (11.4 to 11.2), disposal efficiency (71.4% to 66.8%) and less turnovers (2.3 to 3.5).
When it comes to marking which is Tabs big strength being 3cm taller, Tabs averages marginally more marks (4.6 to 4.5), they average the exact same number of contested marks (1.6) while Cox takes marginally more of his marks inside 50 (1.2 to 1.1).
What that means is there's not much difference between the two statistically except Cox is the younger, better version of Tabs. Let him play and learn how to work with Hogan, Lobb and McCarthy. Lobb is the direct competition for Tabs spot anyway.
