Tabs runs a straight line at a contest well but stops and turns like a truck.
Check out the pre-season video
here. Cox was fantastic and showed all those things.
The first play in that game was a result of his chase and tackle to effect an errant handball in the forwardline. He followed that up with a 70m straight as an arrow kick from the centre square for a goal after a perfect front and centre crumb of a contest. At 3:15 into those highlights he creates another goal with some brilliant fast hands to Ballas.
While the rest of that package is pretty much just Pies goals and doesn't show off the other great things Cox did like his contested marking, he's coming off his second proper pre-season and looked as fit as anyone. he was running everywhere and not looking as tired as he did last year while doing it all on his own (even clocking up the most kms travelled in one game which is incredibly impressive from a 19yo key forward).
I dare say that running impacted his kicking and the way he may have appeared to some people but he looked fantastic in that Pies game and earnt the right to be played ahead of Tabs. With Lobb as the main tall target, Cox is of far more use than Tabs in our forward set up.
