Besides Fyfe, Hill and Langdon who regularly get plenty of the ball we fall away badly after that. Yesterday we had Mundy-15 disposals, Cerra-14, Banfield & Brayshaw-13, Walters-8, Tucker-16. Hogan who we recruited as a forward played in the midfield for the first time in his career and managed 21. That's good, but not good in my view. We have too many midfield passengers and with Blakely injured and Neale gone it's a worry.
Wasn't helped by Lobb and Darcy's poor efforts either. Lobb had 7 disposals and 1 mark. Darcy, 6 disposals and 0 marks.

Agree Agarn. Too little by those players. This where our depth is tested. Mids need to get the ball or lay a lot of tackles. We have other young players itching for a crack, Banfield, Cerra etc may need a spell in the twos.

North, Giro, Crowden, Sturt, even Duman...are mid options. Nothing wrong with dropping a couple. The midfield is a big responsibility, can't plod about with no impact.

The midfield was obliterated even with Neale in the side last year against Geelong. It is about structures. A rock has been their awhile and not done the job. But anyhow there are so many apologists let’s just wait for ross to go. Then we will get a consistent improvement.

It's by far our weakest area, and we had a few too many passengers yesterday. I had assumed there would be some natural improvement from guys like Cerra, Brayshaw and Banfield, but they are yet to have any real influence on games this season.

And as much as I love Neale, if we had been able to somehow keep him we would be the same as last year, no forwards to kick too as we only had pick 86 or something like that.
And on young Darcy, yes he got more hit outs but are they going to our players, but he's young and hopefully under Sandi's guidance will get much better.
Hopefully we can lift next week though the Saints will also know this is one they can get so will put everything into it.
