I know it's not a popular topic, but I'm more than happy to see Hogan spending some time in the middle. Back to the 'big-bodied' mids of previous years, and from what we hear, Hogan has good endurance. I'd much prefer him in there than Son Son, who is a gem of a forward. Chances are, though, they'll rotate players in and out.
As for Matera: all I'll say is that when we weren't playing well, he wasn't one who kept on presenting himself, lead after lead after lead (Brad Hill did, all the time), something that <shudder> some of the Weagles smalls did (Masten, Le Cras) when they were playing well.
