Antonio did quite a good job on Harris, but we got completely monstered in the middle and we just couldn't get any ball. It was same against Adelaide. Their ruck got clean tap to their running midfielders in rehearsed set plays, where they simply kicked to Harris and co. We defended well until Evie Gooch went down, leaving a big hole in defence for their forwards to kick out the score, Duffy and Hooker didn't look 100% fit, so today our luck ran out and the succession of must-win matches came to an end.
Just quietly I think Carlton will take it up to Adelaide, who won't be getting such easy ball.
Two good clearance teams - that would be the plan for next year, but the women's game has lit up the last few weeks, kudos to the coach and players, Hope to see both next year fit and firing. Especially Kiara Bowers!
