It's such an over used football reporting term, season on the line. Once you hear it you can't unhear it, like that Travelling Wilbury's song, Season on the Line. You can just hear Roy Orbison wavering over it all
"well it's alllllll right, we've only got our season on the line"
while The Bob sums it up with
"I'm just happy to be alive".
Win or lose, it's how they play that counts. A little over a week ago I saw some article from the Duffman bemoaning the lack of skills at Freo, comparing their training time to the Ooftits on that aspect of the game. It's disappointing to see him bang the gramophone on and play such a golden oldie when he could have talked about something relevant... how will Freo move the ball, why is Cam Mac named when as far as I know from over here in the Land of the Long White Cloud he hasn't played a game yet this season, how will they try to line up with a more forward heavy team...?
Relevant things, Mark. It's week frikkin one. Teams can lose for the first month and a half and still win a flag, does that count as being on the line?
Out of the 5 original Wilbury's, we're left with The Bob and that hairy bloke from ELO. Think about it Mark... be The Bob.
