I’m fully aware of who the coach is and the last 25 years of the FFC existence.....I’ve sat through almost every game here and many interstate.

My view is the smart coaches match their game plan to the players they have. Excluding Pav I think it’s widely recognised we had very little fire power up forward and that’s why we played a lock it in game. Although at times either Balla or the coaches told players that Balla was 193cms...bombing it on his head.

It is widely acknowledged that this is the first year in our existence we have some tall options to pick from in the forward line, which is why I’m expecting Lyon to bring a more attacking game. Having said that, with the new rules having a very good mid team will be crucial to being effective scoring, we are hoping Brayshaw, Cerra, Blakely et al make big strides in improvement to support Fyfe and Mundy. If one or either go down we’ll be pushing a heavy barrow uphill.

I don’t like Lyons public demeanour but enough players have said they love playing for him that it appears they think he can coach. Maybe he’s not much chop with an average list, which may indicate he’s an average coach?

Lyon is the best coach we've had. He's the least risky choice of coach we ever made.
But his game style is boring, and we've had 3 rubbish years, albeit with an under strength lineup.
I'm hoping that better players (provided we can get them on the park) will lead to a more exciting style of play.
I'm hoping that Yeti and RM have a very disappointing season.

Do you want a more exciting style of play, which is what everybody has been asking for or do you want supporters to have a disappointing season?

So Roly is the best coach we've ever had? Thats a matter of opinion considering the last 3 years of Damien Drum territory but at least Drum didn't sexually harrass junior staff out of the workforce and then hide behind an NDA put in place by the club to protect the guilty.

Clearly we have very different ideas on what a 'good' coach does but we are all familiar with your unqualified support for people who couldn't get a job anywhere else and shouldn't be in a job at my club. Just as clearly we hold different standards as well.

Is he though, roger? He was the only coach we've eve hired on the upward trajectory so it's not unexpected that he had faster results.

Connolly took two seasons to get us into the finals, from last place. Harvey took 3. If you give Lyon an equal starting point, say the end of 2016, he would want to get a wriggle on.

I'm assuming Yeti, that a good result for you is that we do badly enough that Ross gets sacked. Its not a good result for me. May well happen, but not what I want. But you might be right, take some pain now for a greater gain later.

I really liked the Connolly era, but he had this weird thing where the players weren't supposed to enjoy winning, because they were saving it up for when it really mattered. Never made sense to me, because I reckon you celebrate every win.

For me the club highlights were making our first final in 2003, the whole of 2006, and the whole of 2013. I enjoy it when we are awesome, and we were in 2006 and in 2013.
