They played two Fridays ago in mild conditions and we played last Monday in 38 degrees and had a few injuries during the game and it showed in the last half.

Collingwood have been given an extra days rest .....play tomorrow.

It is looking dire for Lyon. I try not to get too over reactive and believe sacking the coach should be done with great caution but the persistence of our issues can’t continue to be tolerated.
I normally think the commentators talk rubbish but from very early today they were onto it. Repeated poor skill execution. By the end of the game it had progressed to complete ineptitude but even early it was obvious, the handball at the feet or 30cm behind, the slight fumble etc, etc. We are unable to execute three skills in a row.
This either indicates a lack of skill and inability to execute or a lack of desire to be this precise. If it is the former we are screwed because we have a new list.
If this hasn’t been turned around by round six, the message has to be sent to all at the club, not performing to AFL standard won’t be tolerated.

Round 6? Round 8? Round 10? What is the magic number where we cut our losses?

Just saying but with our womens team down near the bottom of the ladder for the last two years and then we have a new coach with a straight forward ideas and attacking game plan and virtually the same players and now we are a big chance to play finals (compare gemma houghton this year to when she played under cowan)
Roly has lost the trust and belief of the players, thank the stars we dont have to play Geelong at Kardinia Park this year as that would be a 200pt plus loss (last years result still gives me nightmares)

Thought we played with no confidence today. Something is amiss. Ballas has a good kick, and he was butchering the ball and so was Wilson.

My call, we have the plague. Belly better be looking for a vaccine.

Just watching the way West Coast set up around the ball and a kick away from the contest, we really do look as disorganised as ever. They showed us up.

With Fyfe sucking up to the AFL and keeping them happy and tells the club when he's going to do the procedure is a joke.
All good nothing to worry about.
Also don't blame Lyon on certain players not playing.
Hope Neale has a great season in the team of harmony.
All good nothing to worry about. lol.

Either, the players aren't following tbe coach's instructions - which means the coach is unable to get his message across and 0has lost the playing group;
Or,
The coach's instructions are hopeless!

Its pretty simple problem, with a very simple answer, and i do not 'give a continental' about the payout we might suffer. To me, Freo will lose that amount via membership & sponsors, if this fellow is kept.

Exactly what have we been doing over summer??!!

Its 4 from 6 at round 6 or 'out'!!

On current form, we are heading 'perhaps' 2 from 6, and that will be completely unacceptable!

If we'd won both our preseason games, the usual suspects would have been very unhappy, pointing out that we should save it for when it matters.
But I too am sick of losing. As others have said, our first three games of the season will go a long way to deciding Ross's future, and how we'll go this year. I still think we need half a season for the team to settle down and start working together, but get off to a poor start and Ross is stuffed.

That's a lazy argument. I was disappointed even while we were winning. It was more of that kicking it long to a pack and then locking it down in the forward line in the hope that someone will crumb a goal. I wanted to see a structure, something set up, a plan that didn't rely entirely on the weight of numbers.

I'm not sick of losing. I'm sick of playing like that.

If you haven’t listened to RoLy’s post match presser do yourself a favour and check it out.
In summary
He doesn’t look like a man under pressure - he’s actually very jolly for someone who just coached a team that got flogged
He seems to think that everything is sweet and our weaknesses are easily fixed (if they are so easily fixed why haven’t they been??)
He throws numbers around like confetti (we know the numbers and we know they stink. The fact that RoLy knows the numbers isn’t an indication that he knows how to make them better)
For a no excuses club we seem to have a lot of excuses
RoLy’s cliches were front and centre (apologies for that cliche). He talks about our players buying into our culture and developing our “signature” ... sorry RoLy, just like your game plan, I’m not sure what our culture or signature is anymore. I knew what we stood for when we were getting flogged 20 years ago (blue collar, honest effort, no bulls$&t) and that helped me to hang in there. I’ve got no idea what we stand for now.

... and some advice for RoLy. Telling us that shortcoming are easily fixed is not the good thing that you suggest. It actually highlights your belief that we will swallow crap. What you are actually saying is that after many years at the club you haven’t been able to fix what you are telling us is easily fixed. So what have you been doing?
