Funny really. My obviously selective memory keeps coming up with things like, "That should be the last game Pearce ever plays for us", and "Why Pearce gets chosen week after week is a mystery to me". And if that sort of thing was on Dockerland, I can only guess what the more feral fans dished up.

You forgot the bit where Roly basically sacked him and Johnno with a throwaway line in a presser, which aggravated more than just Pearce and Johnno.

Then you equated people questioning his selection on the back of poor form with being too scared to play in a farewell game, which is utter nonsense. Your only justification for drawing that very long bow is a comment by a bloke not known for actually being either honest or accurate.

So, yeah, I'd agree with you that your memory is somewhat selective.

Well rr, since I never actually said any of that, I can only suggest you go back and read what I said.

I'll give you a hand here. The only source of the suggestion that Pearce refused a send off game was because of harsh words on social media. It came from a bloke who does not have a sterling reputation for honesty or accuracy when talking in press conferences.

Its funny that you say I can't know what actually happened unless it comes from Pearce but you can know Roly's version without any confirmation coming from Pearce. Odd the different standards you apply.

I still find it incredible that a bloke with the mental strength to play 12 seasons of AFL would suddenly find himself unable to play 1 game because of harsh words. Does that sound even remotely likely to you? It shouldn't. It's an absurd proposition.

I'm guessing that supporting the source of that garbage is more important than assessing it's credibility.

I think RR is pretty clear that unless Danyle answers the question directly neither of you is more entitled to know the truth of this.
The only response to this I have seen was Lyon’s, Pearce has had ample time to deny these claims. I also remember how scathing the criticism was of Pearce got at times. I can only imagine that this criticism may have played out in more public expressions at various times. I don’t claim to be an angel in this as I was critical of his selection at times and I regret this.
With the progress of time it has become very clear that Pearce’s performance had very little to do with the teams poor performance.
Lyon May have many flaws and his ability to coach this team to success is rightly being scrutinised, I don’t see very much evidence to suggest mistreatment of his players as one of them. If I was to be critical of him in this regard it would be that he is overly loyal.

Lyon was speculating. He wasn't making a claim about it. It suited rogerrock's narrative that the biggest problem with Fremantle is negative supporters so he ran with it and kept running with it.

Ross Lyon isn't talking about Danyle Pearce. Rogerrocks is.
