I was thinking more about match fixing.
Take the Fremantle v Collingwood game last week. Fremantle had the Magpies in trouble at quarter time and then lost the game quite convincingly. No eyebrows were raised at the result because it's a pre-season scratch match and that's completely normal.
Which means conditions are right for a coach to rest the right blokes and say they were managing their time, play players out of position and say they were experimenting and make sure their team lost without anyone even thinking twice.
Just before Morgan gets writes an essay denouncing the implication, I'm not suggesting anyone would or has done this. I'm just saying the AFL are leaving the door open by allowing it.
