Just remember to fill up with petrol before leaving. It only takes 5 hours up the freeway but remember to refuel or you might not make it if the traffic is clogged up so much that 10kms/hr seems like speeding.

Public transport is ok as long as you don't mind the 28 interchanges between bus and train - - given that it's a public holiday there's also a likelihood of replacement busses in lieu of certain train stations. Public transport is great in the far northern corridor - best to set out before midday on Sunday if you want to make the opening bounce Monday arvo.

The weather guys say it may be warm on Monday - as funny as it will be watching those suffering white blokes from Melbourne turn red in the face on the bench, it's also advisable to pack a couple of tins of food and throw a sleeping bag in the back of the ute in case your rad blows on the way home. Don't forget your tranny and a compass in case you get lost.

As someone who can actually walk to the ground from where I live, I'm happy its there. And for all you southern folk, the seabreeze comes in before noon up that way, so it will have cooled off a bit. You might want more sunscreen at such low latitudes though.....

Did you all know that the urban sprawl from Butler down to Mandurah is supposedly larger than that of greater Los Angeles; like Anaheim up to Nrthern suburbs (Berkley or something).

Greater LA has 13 million people and is notorious for urban sprawl.

Do you think we should stop developing new suburbs or stretch the train line up to Dongara?
