Rosich is aware there has been some speculation around Ross Lyon's performance and the ensuing lack of accountability to that performance for many years.

So they'd like to let you know, in order to provide a little comfort as we enter the season proper, that the coach has rigorously reviewed his performance and concluded that he is in fact coaching better than ever before.

I trust that ends speculation about performance and accountability and transparency.

I would just like to say, after reading Roly's comments, that he's certainly spinning and avoiding better than at any time in the past.

I'm really pleased to hear that he's coaching better than ever. Considering how we have performed over the last 3 years, god knows how bad it would have been had he been coaching as bad as ever.

As much as I would like to take the piss out of Roly's words, taken in this moment, most of it quite sensible.
As much as I disagree with our tactical and selection approach over the last few seasons, I am hopeful he/we can take significant steps forward this year and the next. Roly being dismissed would mean we are going crap, so I am willing to forgive past claptrap if he takes us to where we want to be.

See, that's when you're not paying attention and make me make it not fun. He says a lot of things that are fluffy nonsense but he also says this. And I am not putting anything on him other than to say, he possibly should choose his words with more care.

“(But) we don’t want tragedies,” he said.

“We want premierships, but we also want to produce fine young men.

“(Retired St Kilda skipper) Nick Riewoldt today is in great shape as a person and that makes me proud.”

Two former Fremantle players from his time are dead as a result of thier mental health issues. I'm not sure their families would appreciate him taking credit for Nick Riewoldt being in great shape.

We've endured incredibly poor results, record losses and in some cases, nothing short of systematic humiliation. He is regularly outcoached and then he tells us he's coaching better than ever.

If you were running a business and one person was losing money on 3 out 4 deals and then he assessed himself as 'dealing better than ever', would you just accept that in the hope that he'll do better this year?

If you did, you quickly be out of business. That sort of trading is the best way to create a small business.....from a big business

It's great that Lyon thinks the team "could build to finals in the next few years", cause if they didn't we'd be over the age hump again and require another rebuild.

Good Lord, it's a Gant chart without an end date.

Edit: another thing, none of you should be rolling up your sleeves and applying your shoulder to what is, I assume, a spinning wheel without a JSA.
