Oval Sizes even having two is a bit overrated. The air movement over cockburn will never ever be similar to the craypot.

As someone who stands up all day in a physical job I can tell ya my boots are really important to me. I get six months even less if the nitrile soles have been sitting in the shop for too long.
So how is the state of boot and sole and stud technology going?

I've actually always wondered why they are still wearing off the shelf boots. Feet are a weird shape. If you molded the top of the boot to adjust to the angle and arch of the top of each player's foot you could get create a perfect platform for kicking the ball. Like a bat.

Jezza:

"The calves are the least of your worries"

I think at this point of the season, HB calves is less important than Jesse Hogan’s foot. Plus we sold the farm to get Hoges.

The injury list at the end-ish of 2018 doesn't suggest a problem with stress injuries.

Nor this year. Blakely's injury mentioned is last year's. This year it was a hamstring tear.

Fremantle
Estimated Return
Harley Bennell Calf TBC
Connor Blakely Knee 9-11 weeks
Reece Conca Knee 1-2 weeks
Stephen Hill Quad 7-8 weeks
Shane Kersten Foot 1-2 weeks
Aaron Sandilands Calf TBC
Updated: Wednesday, February 20
Early prognosis

Recurring calf setbacks for Bennell and veteran ruckman Sandilands, who has been absent from training for several weeks, are likely to impact the start of their 2019 campaigns. In positive news, star recruit Jesse Hogan is with the main group and appears to be over the navicular stress fracture which ended his final season at Melbourne in round 21 last year, seemingly putting him in the picture for round one, if not a practice game appearance. Conca should be back in full training soon after picking up a knee infection, and Freo can ill-afford to lose another experienced midfielder/defender after long-term injuries for Blakely and Hill. Key defender Joel Hamling pulled out of AFLX due to calf awareness but was back training fully on Monday. Nat Fyfe has been managing an inflamed bursa on his right elbow, but is expected to lead his Flyers team in AFLX. - Travis King

From what I understand, Melbourne train at AAMI Park which uses a hybrid artificial turf thing.

Joel Hamling a bit soft. Pulling out of a game of footy just because he has worked out what a baby cow is called.
