Ive been thinking quite a bit about this... What - as a freo crowd - are we gonna do next time / anytime Gaff gets the ball.
If we boo, ...we become 'them' - we are what they are...!

And I'm not sure I'd like that concept.?

If we do 'nuthin', we are, indeed, moving on and 'letting it go.'

There must be something we can do as a collective that expresses our "we don't forget', and , 'don't get caught walking down a dark alley, mate" attitde to the Gaff-Brayshaw incident. ?

Sometimes silent protests / actions are much more 'cutting' than the louder ones.

I use as an example those democrat women recently all wearing white and not acknowledging The Donald at his state of the union address.

Or, the Bob Brown 'turn your back' protest at George W.

Neither of the above are appropriate for a footy crowd...but theres simply got to be something we -as a collective - can do, other than stooping to the other lots level

An action like Sheedy's scarf twirling carried on for years, and was immediately 'to the point'

Theres got to be something we can do that is cutting, half intelligent and "on point"...

They're not only allowed to boo they get to frame the rules about when others can boo. They're allowed to carry on like porkchops but we have to be above that.

In 160 years of Australian Rules football, if an opposition player belts one of your players theyhave been booed. It's a tradition, it's a right.

The bastard king hit someone in a Fremantle jumper. We own that event now. We can do with it what we want. We don't dance to their tune or for their approval.

They will BOO Andrew Brayshaw because they are disrespectful and arrogant supporters.
The clubs hierarchy is to blame as they are disrespectful and arrogant in how they conduct themselves.
And it was only 2018 they were held accountable and the bully aspect was highlighted by the media for a couple of events.

Shane's right.

West Coast supporters aren't terrible because they boo; they are terrible for lots of reasons, and one of the ways it manifests is that they boo everything. They have no sense of proportionality. I've seen them boo the bounce of the ball before. It's a weird default state of theirs, and it's risible.

Another characteristic of theirs is to be extremely thin-skinned about any criticism, including booing by other teams. You could spend all day trying to explain the hypocrisy of that to them, but they wouldn’t understand.

Attempting to modify your behaviour so it fits into the warped view of West Coast fans is misguided. Turn up, be a normal football fan, and if that includes booing and that somehow upsets West Coast or the media so be it. It says much more about them than us, and anyone outside of WA recognises that (not that it really matters anyway).

Gaff snotted a teenager behind play and has left him with the life-long prospect of bung teeth. He was suspended and missed a flag. From an institutional perspective he’s ‘done his time’, but the fans haven’t yet had the chance to make their displeasure with Gaff known.

I intend to do so vigorously and often when we play West Coast. Any West Coast fan that doesn’t get that doesn’t understand football. Sadly, that’s most of them.
