I don't have so much of an issue with Gaff as with the Eagle-sucking media. A couple of weeks ago the West referred to the assault as an "incident" in last year's derby, sanitising what was a full-blooded punch followed by Gaff fleeing the scene. The general tone of comment has almost implied Brayshaw should share some responsibility for what happened. Now today the West describes the coward's punch as just a "hit", cementing in some minds once again that what happened was merely an "incident".
The muscle of a $11.4 million operating surplus last year for West Coast (the wealthiest sporting club in the nation) is packing a big propaganda punch to make everybody forget what really happened, though the mindless cheering of Gaff by Eagle supporters after the face-smashing implied they saw nothing wrong anyway.
