Great to see Johnno back at the club but personally I'm devastated to see our high performance rowing coach leaving.....to go to a job as a rowing coach. Flabbergasted at this idea.

Of course, he's a good fit for the role, jezza, but it does strike me a little odd.

We have a history of playing indigenous footballers and as already been said, a third of our playing list are indigenous boys. So why after 24 years have we suddenly realised that we need one.

Don't get me wrong, I think its a terrific idea but I would have thought that we would have got past the liaise bit by now and developed some real understanding of indigenous culture. I'm sure there is always somebody you could ask if you were unsure of anything.

Personally, I'm pretty happy to keep first Johnno at the club

While some are debating the need for an indigenous liaison role, I’m still contemplating the departure of our rowing coach. Perhaps one of the stranger appointments by Freo and not one that seems to have delivered benefits that are visible to the outside world.
