Where exactly is this depth? We got smacked in the midfield most of last season, lost our most prolific ball-winner in the offseason, now the most likely guy to step into the role is gone for most of the season.

So we’re essentially hoping a 33 year old, two second year players, two VFL players and a fringe Richmond player can not only fill the void of an All-Australian caliber player but lift our midfield to something resembling break-even in the middle.

It’s really lousy news, and terrible luck for a young bloke who had a golden opportunity to take his game to new heights this year.

Thanks Jezza. That makes me feel much better about things. I can’t beleive that I was disappointed about losing Connor B so soon after LNs departure. I’m now confident that we will “uncover” another gem. In fact, Jezza you have made me so confident that I hope a few of our other players get injured because that should just about guarantee a premiership.

It’s disappointing, but from adversity comes opportunity. He’ll be back in the back half of the year and hopefully he’ll have an impact. But we need a strong 28-30 players who’ll be pushing each other to get in the 22. CB’s absence will now make others keen for a spot. You’d want to be in the best 22 come Sept. ‘Cause this bus has the MCG as it’s last stop on that last day in September. We’ve still got another 8 weeks before the first bounce, by then Connor will be on the road to recovery. We could lose a couple more before then but let’s hope they stay healthy. It’s the nature of the beast. If injuries don’t get you suspensions will.

Its real bad news - we're gonna need him making a solid contribution this year. Hopefully its not as bad as it sounds...

Still, it enhances the chances of some of the newer draftees getting a go - especially Fyfe2.0 - so its not all bad. We need to get game time into these kids , just like we did for AB & AC....
