Well not completely true WTB. In true Jezza style, he went from claiming that LN leaving was fake news, complete lie, why would he go, he's AB's mentor, blah blah, then on to well if does go it could work in our favour, we can easily cover him and onto that he's a absolute traitor and good riddance.

Well...I guess the point I've been trying to consider, is, that someone mentioned on here the other day that (words to the effect off) "We'd improve and maybe touch the 8, but would take time to gel. Maybe we'll get 8 - 10 wins ".

Now, its a very valid opinion, and I pass no judgement upon it... I actually agree that it will take us a while to come to grips with the concept of playing with a forward line, let alone the new faces getting used to 'The Freo Style of Play" -( whatever the hell that is?...)

However, in absolutely no way would 8- 10 wins this season be acceptable, in my humble opinion.

Perhaps we have rebuilt, - (we have traded really well), perhaps we have got the power forwards we have been look8ng for, and, perhaps everyone is 'cherry ripe'. But what we do have is 'pretty damned good fixturing' - much like the fixturing we got in 2013., which contributed a helluvalot to where we ended up.

Anyone trotting out that 8-10 wins as being acceptable ...(and I'm talking to you RoLy.!.) ...would be announcing failure.

The aim - and the result - should be much higher, and whilst I believe 15 wins is defintely possible, at least 12 should be the expectation - and passmark - for 2019.

And 12 wins generally gets you into the 8. So, for me, failure to make the 8 in 2019, means the coaching group must go.

The intriguing question I'm really struggling it answer, is what happens if we do?

Would we re-sign RoLy...???

Roly knows his job is on the line. And as others have pointed out, he'd be snapped up if we let him go. But if a better option comes up, we should take it.

And any discussion of how Jezza would build/finance a wall are silly - in Jezza's eyes there are no problems, and a wall isn't needed.

This idea that Roly would be snapped up intrigues me. As a head coach who besides say Carlton and perhaps Port Adelaide would be interested? You could suggest St Kilda but that would obviously never happen after the way he left them. And he is obviously not the sort of person who would be willing to take a position as an ass. coach. How demeaning!

I mean coaches with as good or better records than him that got to a similar age were overlooked when their time was up. e.g Malthouse, Blight, Pagan, Ratten

This year will see the Freo resurgence with between 13 & 15 wins and a top eight result, the media will recognise Ross Lyon as not only a finishing coach but also as a development coach, his contract will extended to 2022 and the collective dockerland detractors with be found in a corner of the room comatose chanting how did he do it, how did he do it. Roly, contrary to some opinion, ain't no clown. His mantra was a 2020 vision, and that to my knowledge is still on track. He's tenure was on the proviso that he's allowed to re-wire, re-stump, locked and loaded for 2020. To do that, I think the club as a collective have fulfilled the requirements to launch. So here we are in 2019 ready to achieve what the detractors are calling "bulltish". Take 2018 out of the equation, because its a year I refuse to have any recollection of what happened, in 2016 & 2017, both Rich and Collingwood made their corresponding year's GF after coming under the pump from all facets of the footy industry, with the threat of coach sacking etc. Both those teams, I might add took more than 3 years to get to the pointy end. But that is old news.

What is certain is that, every one at the club, Roly especially, knows its D-Day. It's wharfie time and if you've been down to watch the boys at Cockburn, you to will start dreaming. Cletus has summed up the whole shabang well. The draw plus the soldiers we've enlisted plus the 2020 mantra, well I think you know how I feel. I'm in Jezzaworld where nothing is impossible.
