Happy New Year everyone.
Shane, feel free to delete this post...but a few years ago, I saw a Shane/Dockerland video of Captain Pavlich with Nick Cave's 'The Ship Song' as the soundtrack. I wanted desperately to see Pav highlights over the break, but I can't seem to find this video anywhere. Is it on YouTube or something?

Thanks Shane. The opening lyric of the Ship Song - "Come sail your ships around me, And burn your bridges down. We make a little history baby, Every time you come around." I thought it was genius to pair that with Pav's play.

Suppose I was just nostalgic over the break, and looking forward to when the #29 runs out on the field again, hopefully, this year.

You look at Pav and think he is a big lad, lots of strength. Saw Lobb and hadn't realised how big the bloke is. Hogan, Tabs and Lobb in a forward line are going to be hard to match up for a lot of teams. Hope we can get the ball out of the centre and down to them and a couple of mosquitos front and centre of them as they crash packs. Hopefully Ballas will work out this is not the year to be flying into packs with those man mountains crashing in.

I saw Nick Cave at the Concert Hall on Wednesday. It was a Q&A format with Nick playing songs solo intermittently between audience questions. It reinforced two long-held beliefs of mine: Nick Cave is amazing, and 90% of people who ask questions in Q&A-style sessions are insufferable.

Anyway, he opened with the Ship Song, and I reckon if the Freo Admin are determined to try and replicate Port’s Never Tear Us Apart intro with a ballad of their own, they could do a lot worse than that song.
