Seasons Greetings from The President

I know we say this every year, but the year really has gone so quickly. The start of the season seems not that long ago! I would have to say we have had another typical Fremantle Dockers year with a mix of some fantastic highlights and some disappointing moments. But I really do believe it is all part of what we had to endure going through the Club’s three year rebuild programme which is now complete, and as the ever optimistic Freo supporter, I’m really looking forward to and excited about season 2019. We again picked up some very handy players in the trade period, in particular for our forward line and added more very good, young talent through the draft. It’s quite amazing to think that there are only 12 players on our list who were at the Club in 2016. I think we’re poised for some exciting years ahead.

I would exchange the word SOME fantastic highlights with a couple or few and SOME disappointing moments with plenty, heaps or too many.

There’s that attitude of excellence that the club aspires to. No wonder we are as far as ever from winning anything. The fans aren’t morons. Many of us live and breathe footy. Tell us the truth- the season just gone was a disaster. Come out and say it. Then we know people in the right places actually care and are actively chasing a premiership. Instead, you would think management reckon Freo just had a pretty good year and things are going along fine and dandy.
The culture is terrible. Can you imagine west coast or hawthorn sending out a message like that if they had a season like Fremantle did?
I know it’s just a meaningless end of season letter to the peasants but the whole club just screams mediocrity. I really have put all my faith in Belly. We are screwed if he fails.

Last year we were playing kids in the deep end unable to get to the swallow end.
How can he state that without a couple games played and the team was slick and powerful.

It’s not rocket science that our rebuild is now complete. People have screamed for KPPs and Santa delivered. They have screamed for Bond and Lloyd’s departure, and Santa delivered. They’ve screamed for Roly and Rosich to ‘F’ off, but Santa said, be patient. So now the Presso said, it’s time and the people said, “What the?”
