I think that the recruitment for this season has been the best in terms of depth. We have every line covered if we lose a player. Last years beginners are likely to go up a notch as well. As for our forward line with two new talls and plenty of crumbers opposing teams will find it hard to counter us in the air and if Fyfe goes forward as well it is unlikely the opposition can cover everyone. The key is can Lyon develop a decent forward strategy. He has not been great in the past but he has more options now and some new very good deliverers of the ball. I still think top 4.

The Eagles backed each other, knew each other's position when the ball was going forward and back and it was so basic and predictable.
Liam Ryan and Willie Rioli getting the ball when the ball was kicked over the heads of leading forwards and also running past the pack to crumb 20m ish out from goal. . It got so predictable and they were never shut down. It wasn't luck it was structured. Basic old school footy.

We should be a lot better than last year. So hovering around the top 8 for me.

There are a lot of new guys, and I don't expect the team to gel from the start. But they should hit their straps mid season.

I think the recruiters have got the team full of natural,, talented, instinctive footballers. The game plan as stated by the coaching staff is going to be a lot more basic in order to get cohesion into a fairly young list. When you have a team of instinctive players a basic plan is all you need. I like the fact that Sandi and Bennell are both having good pre-seasons and that Darcy looks ready to take the next step. Our depth is now quite good and with a simpler game plan it will be easier for guys to cover injured players, worry less about tactics and more about what they are doing. When Bob Davis coached the Geelong boys he reckons he just used to rev them up and let them go. I just hope to Christ we dont go all Kevin Sheedy on the team and start playing forwards as backs, ruckmen as wingers and ball carriers as goal sneaks etc.
6 to 8 this year.

We won 4 in 2016. 8 last two years.

Recruitment has been good, Hogan’s foot makes it uncertain. Neale is a big loss but some youngsters will get better.

I reckon 12 wins is about it. If all goes well maybe a couple more. Less than 12 wins and coach, CEO and president should all step down.

The other factor is I’m overseas during the finals, so we will probably win the flag.

Seems is your name has a "H" at the start of you first or last names you are in trouble and our medical / fitness people will break you - So HB, BH,EH must be nervous.

I recon we will be around about where we are now again, with possibly a couple more wins than last year. We should however be better entertained by some of the new kids being "Vibrant".

That stat, B1R1, makes as much sense as a lot of other stats thrown around.

But HB is definitely cursed. Ballas only survived the curse because he's a hobbit and everyone knows that hobbits are largely immune to dark magic.
