I am pretty sure I know what the Victorian response to the idea of playing more than one Grand Final (and some of those GFs being played interstate) would be. But what about the rest of us.
I like the idea of being able to attend a GF at Perth Stadium but understand that playing multiple GFs would be hard on the players but I think those things could be worked through.
Perhaps having some rule changes to games 2 or 3. The sides for games 2 or 3 may not be the same as for game 1 or the quarters in the GFs might be reduced by.
Should it be investigated further or are we happy to have only 1 GF per year and for every GF (probably in my life time) played in Victoria?

Yeah, naaaahhh. Whatever comes out of there is not a viable option for a start. The AwFL decided a few years ago it would get rid of replays for drawn finals and go to overtime. They wont go for this...…..*

A Grand Final is exactly that. The best of 3 or 5 or 7 etc are not what the “last day in September” was meant to be.
What is this talk all about? Making the Grand Final fairer? Getting more money into the coffers of the awfl?
Why don’t the league’s wise men turn their attention to making the fixtures fairer? why don’t they look at making it a true home and away season instead of extending the season beyond the current GF?
Preseason competition pfft, playing games in the heat of summer pfft,
Give us something but not the extensions to the GF.

I always thought it dumb concept in the USA. Best of three really is show me the money if the AFL ever goes that way.
I would rather see a stand made by the non Victorian clubs about how selfish, self-centred, big headed, boof headed and egocentric, egotistic, egotistical, egomaniacal, self-regarding, self-absorbed, self-obsessed, self-seeking, self-interested, self-serving, self-loving, narcissistic, vain decision and the easiness that Vicpottie political and AFL hands on dicks was made.
I was hoping the Eagles bealted the Magpies because the Victorian rule.

Imagine the thrilling finish to the first game, when the losing away coach rests all his players for the next week.

Just rotate the location of the Grand final each year, announce the next location 12+ months before the current GF.

We can start this system in 2050.

Do you know what? It’s a crap idea, but it might just get up.

Because the DoF ( the Victorian government’s Department of Football AKA the AFL) might twig and say: “Hang on. If a team from the colonies finishes on top, we still get an MCG GF, but if either a team from Victoria finishes on top (and that’s something we can easily arrange) or two Victorian teams make the grand final “series”, we get THREE GF’s at The G!! Ka-ching!!!!

And we can put our hands over our black hearts and say, “There you are kiddies - you asked big daddy for a lollipop, and we gave you one”.

“Now off you go and choke on it”.

Single grand final for me.
If they want more cash, play a State of Origin on the Friday night.

With the GF, there is no tomorrow. Players go flat out.

And now you want them to do it 3 times? To make it 'fairer'. Frickin idiots.

So our boys make the GF, you stump up for a GF package, win or lose, you stump up for a second week. You then possibly stump up for a third week. If it's decided after a second week, do we still get to see a dead rubber in the third week? Just dumb. Have they consulted with the players or fans on this? Focus on sorting out the other messes they've created, Gold Coast, GWS, and (sorry) AFLW.
