This is a mistake in my view.

He's very young and he'll come good. He never really got a chance to show what he had at AFL level and I think he'll get a go elsewhere

I would have hoped he could spend another year on the Rookie list, although I know there are restrictions around this. We do now have a lot of big men, but he had a LOT of potential.

Extraordinary. One of few project big men of the last decade that actually seemed worth persevering with, if you don't count Taberner, who had the opportunities he didn't, but admittedly could run up and back a lot better. Would have to think his card was marked, perhaps those that supported the initial selection and development time are now gone.

Why we picked another two lumbering ruckmen in last year's draft in Jones and Meek when we already had two, then decided to turn Apeness into a ruckman also is just another in the weird line of Fremantle conundrums.

Add in Strnadica, who showed more potential this year than any of those three mentioned. We are then forced to delist him because all the other plodders are contracted.

Anyone explain why we gave Apeness another year? Does he have the same manager as Danyle Pearce?

Our two lumbering ruckmen in Sandi and Darcy were injured.Apeness has only done a hammy and should be good to go next year.I was impressed with his improvement,especially at ground level.Strnadica was equal top goal scorer for Peel and was unlucky not to get a run.I would have liked to have seen him get a run in the bigs but with our new recruits,it is hard to see him getting an opportunity.

I am speechless. While I like jones strength and tenacity , strnadica ( IMO) has so much more talent, agility and is the modern day ruckman.

These decisions are tough I know, but to see him delisted behind others on the list is a mistake.

Unfortunately the others you speak of still have contracts given by past list managers! Poor Strnadica hasn't, Bell can only fix so much in his first year.

Agree. But I think all draftees get an initial two year contract so I think Jones was always safe. He would want to improve though...
