You mean wanting to wait on B Hill and use his draft pick to rebuild? That's still the ideal scenario, B Hill didn't help us win the premiership in 2017 so I'm not sure where the benefit in giving up our higher pick early was.

I'm not saying wait on I HIll in any case, just that he's a decent chance to end up at Freo in the future either way. I'd pick other players ahead of him this year.

Current rakings and analysis suggest that Clark should be our first pick and if not there then Ian Hill is it.
Clark is at 10 and Hill at 17. In my view Hill has an enormous up side. He has all the attributes of a Cyril Rioli and Michael Walters. Clark showed he's excellent down back in the U18s. He is very good.
If Hill is available at 14 we MUST pick him. Put him in the gym and build him up. He's a beauty.

For chrissakes don't put him in the gym, get him out there playing footy. Have you forgotten the "Medhurst Experiment"? Freo stacked about 15 kilo's on him, and he lost his zip and leap, Pies grabbed him, slimmed him down and got a few more years out of him. Let the young fella develop naturally.

RM all young players go through a strengthening regime when they come into the senior AFL competition. I agree keep him off the fast foods. But obviously you agree he's our man at 14 if he's there. Please don't let him slip through to the 'other team' or any other team.

The greatest unknown that I just can't get my head around is live trading. Clubs can also still trade picks right up until draft night, so anything could happen yet.

Reading the latest article and it reckons Jordan Clark is potential top 10, so if he is still available at 14 you would have to take him. Maybe Bell the Messiah still has some magic to work and can potentially move up the order, depending on who other clubs are looking at. He might be able to work it that we pick up both!?

Bell was doing the commentary in the Claremont V EP final and was giving plenty of praise to Clark. Along the lines of an old player's head on such a young bloke.
Agree with Biz, he's a natural to step into the midfield in the future, similar to what we're expecting from Blakely this year.
Might be wrong but I thought he may have also played a few games this year on the wing.

DD, strengthening is a bit different to bulking a player up. That is ok for someone like Darcy, or Mundy, but not for a livewire goalkicker.

Yossarian, I note your comments about Jack Mayo..
I have only seen him live a few times but he has certainly impressed me.
I played against his Father who left Country Vic to play in Kalgoorlie and has never returned back to Vic.
He was the typical high paid country footballer, get job will travel and is a mad keen Geelong fan.
He had dodgy knees but he is one player that could easily have played to a AFL level.
I believe he missed his window with injury and ended up coaching at Subi.
Freakish player so I watch with interest whether his son will get the opportunity to play at higher level than he did..
Dad was a prolific goalkicking CHF that played up the ground and then switched to CHB when required to nullify the oppositions best player.
