Although we may have seen our best ever trade week just completed, I still think we need another inside-mid, ball magnet.
I am sure Conca will do a serviceable job, but his presence alone will not make up for the loss of Neale.

With Pick 81, is there any chance that a wrong can be righted and we draft a discarded Docker legend on a 1-year playing contract (followed by an assistant coaches role the following year)?

Let's make it happen. You know it makes sense.

As much as I would love to see Barlow back we already have Blakely to step into the role. He is not needed in the backline anymore and has done his apprenticeship.

He would take Neale's place if the young fellas are not handling the inside-mid battering.
If the young fellas can take the heat, he can play at Peel and learn how to be an assistant coach. Seems ideal insurance.

Snail, it is both a heart decision because Micky B is a Freo legend.
...and it is a "Head" decision because we actually do need an inside mid for probably another year. There is no doubt Barlow will find the pill more than anyone else on our list (other then Fyfe and Mundy)

NB. There is a mid-season draft in 2019. We can always draft Micky B in for the second half of the season if we struggle early.

My ulterior motive here is to give the Docker supporters the chance to give Barlow a magnificent farewell. He should have had one.
It would be even Ok if he had the chance with an opposition team - like we did with Crowls.

Big L love Barlow, and be great to have him back at club but with recruiting this year at trade Mundy can play in the midfield instead of forward, Connor can also go in.

If they're happy to bring the Gu back to the club as part of our development program I'd happily add Barlow to the mix.

Be a bloody good role model seeing how hard he did it to get on an AFL list and then to get back again after his 'car-crash' level leg break.

If we need Barlow as an inside mid, Bell, Rosich and Lyon should all be sacked. Barlow, now, would get a game ahead of Matera, Sutcliffe and Sheridan.

Prob why Sheridan & Sutcliffe are in the gun to be cut.

Bit harsh on Matera one year in. It often takes players some time to adjust to a new team environment. If he has a repeat of this year next season - that’s another story.
