Ok, so with all the conjecture about what our plan is, here’s how I think it will play out...
Trade 1. Neale to Brisbane for picks 5 & 32
Trade 2. Picks 5 & 23 to Melbourne for Hogan
Trade 3. 2019 2 round & pick 11 to GWS for Lobb & pick 14.
Trade 4. Pick 30 to pies for Langdon.

Draft.
Pick 14: Hill
Pick 32: O’riely
Pick 49: Carter

Done.

Edit: if we can off load any of T-bone, Sutcliffe, Apeness or Meek, we take the best available WA kid with whatever we get for them.

PK, you’ve got to question Brisbane’s swapping of their early second rounder. They have to find another first rounder to go with pick 5 for the Neale trade. It’s Brisbane’s causing all this anti Freo talk, that’s the way I see it.

Maybe Jezza, I think now that we have made Melbourne admit they would have accepted pick 6 & 23 for Hogan we may relax our stance on two first rounders for Neale.
The Lions will likely end up with pick 18 from Collingwood would as part of the Beams trade so we could go totally hardball and hold out for 5 & 18 for Neale, this would go down to the death though and means we’ll likely miss Hogan.
If Gold Coast flinch and trade May somewhere else the whole deal falls apart.
This may suit Biz as we would end up with picks 5, 14 (assuming Lobb deal gets done) 18 & 23 so we’d be assured and “elite” pick, plus a couple later 1st rounders. However I think Bell really does want Hogan.

I think the whole thing is masterfully being played.

First let's get this straight. We fleeced Port. Plus is opened up assets to trade for Lobb and any other targets.

Appearing to pull out of the Hogan trade has put the blow torch on Brisbane. We don't need to make that trade to get Hogan now. It will get us an extra second round pick for Neale.

It also sets the market for Hogan. The Dees have shown their hand saying they would take 5 and 23. Knowing what your opponent wants is half that battle.

Lobb should be cheap looking at the trades Gws is making. Scilly for a pick in the 60s is ridiculous.

Offering 11 for Kelly sets that market and wedges the Eagles into offering more.

We may not get all of our trades done. But I would suspect Neale and Lobb will definitely get done. So we finish with Conca, Lobb and a host of picks, we give up Neale but you have to give something up.

PK, pretty close to what I’d have thought but I think you’re paying overs for Lobb. Pick 30 with some future pick swaps should seal that deal.

I’m loathe to part with 5 for Hogan, but 11 & 23 with some later pick swaps may be enough. Depends on whether May is still available to Melb by the time they find the dummy they spat across the room and come back to us with an offer we can meet with existing picks.

If that Geebung deal mentioned on another thread gets up we might have WCs first round pick for next year to offer Melb along with pick 11.

1: 11 & next years first pick for Hogan
2: second rounder for Lobb and maybe a draft change somewhere in the forties.
3. Pick 5 for Neale
4: Draft pick 5 for Rocee ( according to SA talent manager can play mid , fwd & back). This is the type of player Lyon said he wanted.

Good result which would set up for years to come

Ok, so pick 5 became pick 6 and we held out long enough to get pick 19 instead of 32 for Neale, net result was basically as I predicted. Pick 11 plus whatever else we got from Brisbane for Lobb and pick 14, think I should do Morgan’s quiz now as well

I don’t understand it, but apparently you can still trade your picks before draft night.
I say we trade all of our remaining picks for picks in the 2023 draft.
I have heard that it will be a once in a generational draft down to pick 19, and even better you can follow it live on the AFL app now.

So far we have 4 off the list - Johnno, Pearce, Spurr and Neale.
Plus 4 added to the list - Hogan, Lobb, Colyer and Conca

So we need to delist however many draft picks we want to use 14,31, 43, 65, 81

I'm guessing we may try and swap to get back into the 3rd round next season
