Do you think we could Trade Sheridan and Suttcliffe to Port and get #6 back?

Do they have and other picks, I'd take our future 3rd round, just saying while they are hot

Kevin Costner could pull it off in Draft Day

Port's pick 6 is not going anywhere unless it's in exchange for Picks 1,2,3,4 or 5. They need these picks to get talented South Australians in, not our recycled offcasts.

You had to go and mention SPS didn't you DBTS?!

Just to clarify, it was 2 years ago I was on SPS and I stand by it (last year I was on LDU and Stephensen). He's looked awesome when given the chance but it's pretty tough playing half forward off the bench in a side that's finished bottom winning 2 games for the year. Even so, he's racked up 4 brownlow votes so far and had some ripper moments and very good games. He was very influential in Carlton's win over GC late in the season picking up 26 touches with a few stints into the middle and that's likely to expand next season as he grows into his body. He is a gun.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I agree with Biz's obsessive analysis of SP-S, top shelf footy quality. Unfortunately Carltoon are using him like we used Danyellerin' Pearce - he is the go-to fella that almost always ends up with the final hard ball disposal under extreme pressure. They'll burn the kid out before his talent is really shown. Shame, wrong club at the wrong time.

I'll reiterate my warning for everyone though - don't mention Sam unless you want Biz to go off his nut again.

I was going to bring up SPS, but the rebuttal would have been painstakingly hard to read. As for RM’s getting a grip, I’d still draft 22 mids if possible. The Lobb and Hogan get is what the masses want, so I’ll just bow to their demands. In fact Hogan spend some midfield minutes for the Dees this year, so maybe he’s a good replacement for LN. That should ruffle a few feathers.

Sorry Biz I do respect the info you have in the draft prospects and you seem to take the time to do the research and are more informed in this area than me.
I still subscribe to the theory that draft picks are overrated if other things are adrift.
I like the idea of getting Hogan and even Lobb as there is a body of evidence as to what you are getting.
I am not privy to what type of player that cub has identified we need, the other unknown at the draft even with pick six you may end up with the third, fourth or fifth best of the type of player that you are chasing.

If Brissie swap 5 for Adelaide's 8 & 16 and then on trade them to us with their pick 32 for Lachie plus our pick 49, then we'll have 3 first round picks 8, 11, 16 then 23, 30, 32 & 80. Then let's hope Belly uses them wisely and not spend them like chips at the casino.

So then Lobb, maybe Hogan, or maybe Langdon?

But try to keep both picks 8 & 16.

Gotta admit I was with Biz on the Stephenson/LDU draft picks last year. 50/50-one is already a star, the other still developing.

With regards to Tom Langdon, his old man was at the Doig and my mate had a long conversation with him as they were on the same table. He said a few interesting things including Tom was seriously weighing up Freo's offer, how Ed was constantly effusing about Perth and the weather and the surfing to Tom, He likes the idea of both his sons playing for Freo, seems like the old man is in our corner quietly whispering in Toms ear.

Once the Cowboy trade gets done we should have 5 and 32 which we then trade 5 to Crows for 8 and 13 so we then have - 8,11,13,23,30,32,49 and 80 barring any further swaps to up our trade numbers. To go from 6 and 80 to potentially now having 3 first round picks, 3 second round picks and a third rounder is pretty damned fine tap dancing.

We can then continue the tough negotiating and arrange the following trades
Hogan for 8 & 23
Lobb plus 25 for 30 & 49
Langdon - 32
That would leave us 11,13, 25 & 80 to pick up a few first rounders like Ian Hill, Ned McHenry, Liam Stocker, Xavier Duursma and Dillon O'Reilly
