Now it is reported that Dayne Beams wants out of Brisbane to return to Collingwood.

If this is true it can only be good for us in our pursuit of Tom Langdon and even better as Brisbane will now have the opportunity to throw the kitchen sink to get Lachie Neale.

It will be interesting to see what they ask for, given the first few days have been about low-balling Freo on Neale. Beams is two years older and not as good as Neale, so anything better than a late first round pick will expose them as hypocrites.

I was questioning the motives for LN heading to BrisVegas for money alone - that the sweetener of being a future captain might also be in play.

Well, this has just confirmed it - welcome on board Captain Cowboy to the least worst Queensland AFL side. Hope he enjoyed his finals experience with us - might be the last he’s played.

Well you're a bit late on that one Jason, I pointed that out about a week ago. I think the way he's always conducted himself at Freo that he's always been a Captain in waiting. Unfortunately that was never going to happen while Nat Fyfe was here and it's pretty obvious that the captaincy could be part of the bait put out there by Fagan given his other leadership options.

How about this trade Fremantle give Lachie Neale to Brisbane, Brisbane give Beams to Collingwood and Pick 5 to us, Collingwood give Pick 18 to us.
End result we get Picks 5& 18, Brisbane get Lachie and Collingwood get Beams. Everyone's happy?

Writing something first does not amount to thinking something first.

The LN deal was always about more than just money - this announcement only proves what else Brissie we’re offering as incentive.

So now they can hand over pick 5 and whatever compo they get from Collonwood for Beams - at least the first round pick part of it.

Edit - GM, jinx. We got to the same outcome just via different routes. Though I think Brissie will want more than just Collonwood’s first pick. They gave up significantly more getting him.

Collingwood get (Beams bris)
Bris get (Neale freo) plus pick (18 , 51 coll)

We then trade Adelaide our pick 5 for their picks 8 and 16

offer Melb pick 8 and 11 for hogan or 11 and next years first rounder

Interesting listening to trade radio.
According to other posters they have been suggesting that Freo are being a little too pedantic holding out for more than pick 5. Since Beams has been suggested as wanting a trade they have referenced what they paid for him and wanting to recoup that investment.
