Yeah Morgan that's all very well until you add current premiers to that list.

Then it all falls to bits on you

Sure until we win a premiership, we’re a basket case to all and sundry. But currently every club are striving to improve their list. Everyone was screaming for KPP, we’re now likely to get Hogan and Lobb, both under 25, with plenty of upside, and we’re still not happy. That’s just bordering on stupidity.

So, if I get this right, winning the Premiership automatically assumes everything you do thereafter is nothing short of inspired genius that the rest of us mere mortals should look upon in awe? Plus any previous criticism of their culture, poor player management & myriad of problems should all be forgotten?

I was wrong, Yeti, your not a Shane clone - your a sub-editor from The Worst.

And WC failed to get rid of Gaff - when they obviously have a surplus of midfielders. But it is good news for our home derby next season.

Yeah Jason that's exactly what I said.

I'll use small words for you if you like. It's very hard to make case that a team is not well run when they've just won a flag.

Is that simple enough for you or do you need pictures to explain simple concepts?

Yeti, that is brilliant...a Pictionary style accompanying site for those of us more responsive to pictures.

‘Run well’ and operating at the highest levels of integrity and accountability are not the same thing.

Just like getting a B-grade ruckman to replace a Premiership ruckman is not necessarily a reflection of astute trading but more an obvious outcome when you’re preferred option overlooked you for the local ‘basket case’.

Or would you like that as a picture to clarify it for you?

You still avoid the issues, Jason.

Where were we discussing integrity? We weren't. That's a smokescreen from you.

I'll say it again, you cannot suggest a club isn't being run well when they've just win a flag. Clearly they're doing something right.

So, getting Lobb or winning a premiership, which of those is the bigger achievement?

the club that just won the GF is well run, clever, heavy Western Australian corporate influential personal backing which integrity is not part of their club motto. We came as the "people's club" in the 1994 membership drive because WCE had the member explosion and the club moved the most 1987 foundation supporters to the three tier stand and lesser desirable seats to accommodate the bandwagon. ( Still have the foundation badge which is going on Gumtree)
The WCE's also made a comment that members should not be part of any decisions of running the club.
This is what happening at Freo for the past several years and we did have a GF appearance.

I don’t think anyone would argue that Steven Bradbury was the best ice skater at those Olympics, but he still has a gold medal. Sometimes the universe comes up with weird and (not so) wonderful ways to keep us guessing.

There was an interesting discussion on Fox with Tom Morris having a go at Freo. However, Brad Johnson and particularly Joe Montagna sided with Freo, saying that they had every right to do their "due diligence."

The Victorian media have a very different attitude to Hawthorn...

I have never said WCE aren’t a well run club.

I’ve been taking the p$ss out of them for decades for all sorts of things like poor culture (drug & otherwise), arrogance, losing a current & Premiership captain, etc.

However, this year’s victory against great odds, with 3 AA’s in the stands, opponents home-ground advantage and 5 goals down was an extraordinary effort.

I have been greeting my Weagle mates and family since their victory (except my brother in law last night, but that’s another story) with:

Great game, amazing comeback and well deserved victory -credit where credit is due. It’s left every single one of them (who all know how much I hate their team) speechless.

But that is besides the point here. What the issue up for debate here is that because they won a flag - everything they do is genius and above reproach. Including the drafting of a journeyman ruckman to replace their Premierahip winning No. 1 ruckman who just rejected a contract extension to join another club.

It’s not ‘genius’ - that’s called plugging a gap when your real target (Lobb) chooses the club in ‘disarray’ across the river.

Yeah Jonno, Montagna's been on our side all the way, reckon's Lachie is definitely worth 2 first rounders probably from first hand experience playing against him. Also I reckon he thinks Tom Morris is full of it judging by the expressions he pulls when young Tom is spruiking it.
