Polly's post somewhere else was very amusing and spot on.

At this stage we have....

i. Conca in
ii. Lobb wants to be in
iii. Neale maybe in, maybe out
iv. Hogan was supposedly in, now supposedly out
v. Langdon being spoken to
vi.Bennell maybe out
vii. Kelly hoped to be in but manager says don't go there
viii. Cox maybe out
ix. Coniglio maybe coming back

All this with picks # 5 and 80.

I'm not sure why anyone though making trade period longer than a week made sense.

The thing I've noticed is the narrative thats being promulgated where Freo is holding up all the other clubs by not agreeing to Brisbane's first offer. It's being endorsed by the so called' experts' with few exceptions and it is utter nonsense at best.

Brisbane have offered pick 5 and have stated the view that pick 5 should be enough and why should they offer more?

Then you have even more nonsense that May and Hogan trades can't be done cause Freo is holding everybody up.

Well, if any club wants May, they can pony up their own resources. Freo isn't any part of that. Hogan hasn't requested a trade, so how we are holding that up escapes me but then I guess I'm no 'expert'. As for Neale, its all down to Brisbane. If they want him badly enough then they'll pay the going rate. If he's not worth it to them, they should say so and walk away. He's under contract for next year anyway and I'd rather keep him, personally. So would Bell.

There is pressure being ramped up on Freo to bend and do a trade and those monkeys can scream and swing on all the branches that they want. I would hope Freo doesn't bend and I doubt that Bell will.

Its annoying though when you look at the concerted efforts being applied to suit an East Coast narrative. We owe those monkeys nothing. It's time they learned that.

Come on, Morgan.

More rumours equals more advertising space sold. More sponsorship for AFL.

As in all great crimes, you follow the money.

Yeah, I know. I've heard webiste editors on podcasts from the US discuss how content about trades generates significantly more clicks than content about actual games. I assume it is the same here. I find it unsufferable, and yet here I am talking about it.

Well given that the last hours of the trade period is timed for prime time next week it would make perfect commercial sense to save a couple of bangers until then.
Don’t want to cross over to the final stages of a scrabble tournament between the list managers.

You would hope they would finish their Scrabble tournament well before the last few days of trade week.

Having to rush out of a Scrabble game to lodge paperwork for 'So & So' is terribly distracting and there is no triple letter score for trade paperwork

Just as well McDonald-Tipungwuti's not up for trade as they may run out of letters.

Here's my whirlwind prediction. We have after this trade period:
Loss: Neale
Gain: Lobb (23)
Langdon (32)
Picks 5 and 10 in the draft (OR 6 and 11).
No Hogan.
All this one week before the finale! That's courage!

We could have a 23 week trade season followed by a couple of weeks of playing footy?

In other news this just popped up on afl.com in an article about unsigned players at every club....
“Ethan Hughes and Ryan Nyhuis have quietly agreed to terms for new one-year deals”
This makes me happy

Since when is Cox possibly out? I haven’t heard that one.
And I’m not convinced Bell REALLY wants Lachie to stay. He just knows how to posture with the best of ‘em. It’s all chest out and bluster.
