I'm noticing a weirdly similar feel to the recent final episode of the Bachelor. Are we headed for a huge let-down or is someone actually going to be handed a rose?

Jason McCartney on Scully: "He's got to work through a few things on his ankle rehabilitation, there's no doubt about that. Hawthorn's fully aware of that and they're going to back themselves..."

That's why he went so cheap. Doesn't seem to be any such talk on Hogan's foot.

What's the Bachelor and what's this rose business?

Any word on whether Scully's apparently monumental pay package for 2019 might have been smoothed out over the next four years, so that it doesn't really matter (from salary cap perspective) whether he plays footy for Hawthorn or not, and whether he would have been minded to have re-committed to the Giants under a similar arrangement?

Tom Scully. A bloke who has one of the highest salaries in the league, can't kick, has a busted ankle and is so full of character he promised a dying Jim Stynes he wouldn't leave Melbourne before taking off a couple of weeks later.

What a bargain. I'm surprised GWS didn't offer teams a pick just to take him off their hands.

I know Hawthorn is said to prioritise players who can kick, but there isn't much evidence of that in their recent recruiting. Is there a cleft-footed mercenary north of the Murray they wouldn't poach?

Hawks would send Demie over to the lads house and he would be hit by "When I was Young Player" stories and the lad would sign on the dotted line to get him out of the house.

What I would say about the whole *hi* fight is that I’d hold LN at the club. Screw everyone else and let’s see how Fremantle will be perceived. Considering we’re not in anyone’s good books atm.

Demons reportedly willing to take our Pick 6 and next years Second round (because they think we will finish bottom 2) for Hogan
No news of the contract length, but it appears to..... be.... on.

Not everything the Hawk’s touch turns to gold.

I remember a few seasons ago bemoaning the fact that the reigning premiers had poached a former no. 2 pick from GWS, Jonathon O’Rourke, for picks 19 & 40 with pick 43 going back to them.

They just delisted him.

I hope the Scully deal turns out more like that than the Tom Mitchell one.

If that's the case its a good result. Bringing in Lobb and Hogan and still keep 2 picks in the teens seems possible. Pick 6 and 18 from Brisbane, Pick 6 and future 2nd for Hogan and pick 11 and 23 for Lobb and 14. That leaves us with picks 14, 18 and 30 in the draft. We could also end up swapping 18 for Lobb which leaves us with picks 11,23,30. Both of these scenarios are fine with me.

The Purple Haze have officially arrived at Marvel Stadium.
Very professional that they are keeping their body clocks on Perth time.
