I thought he handled himself very well. You would expect a Doig medalist who was playing on with the club to mention something about “looking forward to 2019 etc etc” but nothing of the sort. He said something about much he’s learned about leadership etc etc.
IMHO I think he’ll be at the Lions next year.
Good luck to him. Brisbane has probably offered him a secured future that he couldn’t refuse. I think he’s a few games short of a life membership at Freo. He may get that in Qld.

I thought Ed Langdon spoke really eloquently given he is a pretty young bloke. His affection for the club and his team mates really shone through. Fyfe whilst giving his speech acknowledged that Langdon will be in the leadership group in the next year or so.

He’s no “traitor”. How many of us with 5 years left in our careers would knock back 400k a year to move interstate? It’s actually a positive reflection on someone who has their head screwed on and understands that he will be a long time retired.

Somehow it just doesn’t sit well with me. He says he calls Perth home, so $$$$ is the motive of going elsewhere. Fair enough. But after 7 years of a club that’s looked after you, you kick them in the nuts. Freo’s offer would have been substantial and knocking that back says that there’s a little greed involved as well. So while his decision is about money, it’s hardly a decision that want to make me congratulate him. So now let’s see if we can score an even bigger win from the last Lachie traitor.
