I'm not across who has a contract, the rookie rules, or how many we need to lose, but I would have them in this order to keep:
i. Nyhuis – I like him a lot, even though I’m not sure he’s a first-choice defender at this stage.
ii. Strnadica – big, doughy guys take time, I’d want to give him at least another year.
iii. Grey – probably deserves to be lower, but I can still see a role for a hard nut in the forward line. It would help if he stopped gifting the ball to the other team.
iv. Sheridan – I thought he was helpful last year. Maybe not first-choice, but good for about 10 games a year as injury replacement.
v. Giro – I know people on here rate him, and he struggled with an early injury, but if you’re tiny, easily moved off the ball and can’t kick 40m, then you need to have a lot of upside in other areas. I’m not sure I saw too much of that in the games he played.
vi. Hughes – Looks better than he plays. I’d have him behind Nyhuis and Duman at this stage, and neither of those guys are in the best team.
vii. Sutcliffe – I’ve always had a soft spot for Cam, and think he was unfairly maligned at times. Still, hard to see him getting another contract. Thanks for your efforts Sexy Eyes.
