Even a week later, it's still upsetting that the Weagles won the flag. There is no upside, I'm afraid. If anything, if they apply the same formula as 2018, they're in line to go back-to-back. Now, how's that for a real stomach churner?/
Here's part of their formula: Win games at home (11 or so wins right off the bat, with not much of a Freo resurgence to take a win or two off them); win a few games interstate (say, 40%, giving them another 4-5 wins); get in the top four, perhaps top 2. Make it to the GF on the basis of a healthy list at the right time.
Of course, you could say that's the formula for Freo too, but I'm not sure we're at that level. Sigh.
