Correct me if I'm wrong but they had a pretty easy draw. Rounds 1 lost to Sydney, then RD4,5,6 was Suns, Carlton and Dockers. The Dockers game was a turning point for them with Margetts and Dalgleish orchestrating a wonderful win in OUR home game. This is what set them up and gave them confidence, and sapped ours. Roly clinging to "Anyone Anywhere" didn't have the backing of the board to speak out against clearly biased umpiring.
If you are a long suffering diehard like myself you clearly understand the usual pattern, or you are close to brain dead.
That's why I will surrender my membership this year, and go to games on merit only. If we keep performing I will still probably attend all home games, but if we are disadvantaged by a corrupt system then I can bail out. If our club speaks out against umpire bias I will reward club with full attendance. Otherwise not!
