It’s been a tough year, and it’s not over yet. It’s hard not to reflect on 2013 with so many unwanted texts from Melbourne.
My faith has been tested. I feel it’s been a pretty sh1t year for Freo supporters, and that’s saying something. The general tenor of posts on this website suggests I’m not alone. Apart from Morgon’s Reviews - they were pretty cheerful.
Eagles supporting friends and family are irritating me. $Lachie$ is irritating me. Eddie always irritates me.
I dont think I’m staying up for the GF marathon tonight. Sorry Hyphen. There is only a 1 in 130ish chance we will feature anyway, and Chanel eagle ensures that is 1 in a million.

So I YouTubed Freo v Sydney 2013 and watched the highlights. That helped. Then I thought about the strong contribution I made to Gage Roads at the footy this year with friends and family and felt a lot better. I am possessed of an irrational and familiar blind optimism for 2019. I am not giving up on Roly, Belly, Fyfey or the bunch of young champs coming through.
I dream of the day we all walk from Fed square to the G again. We will have our day.
