We can sit anywhere except to the immediate right of Les Fong's brother. Basil will be sitting there.
Go Cardies.

Surely charging an entry fee to a creditors meeting is against the law?

West Perth has been under a State Government rule for the twenty five years.
The " Joondalup Arena Venue West " was a white elephant for first ten years and their only tenant West Perth brought the people who ate and had a drink and all the money went to Venue West because they supplied the staff and supplied the catering. West Perth functions including post game for the past 25 years have been held outside in Pubs and Community clubs. Even the venue this Sunday night after the Grand Final will be held at the WA Italian Club because theres a concert being held at Venues West Joondalup.
The WA Football Commission should be held responsible for West Perth's financial position.
Getting 10% of the catering sales for the past 25 years and the rent doubling and told to have $2000 worth of security
guards at each game.
Every other club could supply a bucket of chips for $6 and make $5 profit but West Perth made $0 .60c. which 3333 buckets had to be sold to pay for the security.
I did get involved in the late 90's because I saw the writing on the wall and the club was living at the mercury of a rag without any oil supplied by State Gov organisations.
We have had a venue for the past season but still no liquor licence because another State Government dept.
But Venues West can sell liquor in the members venue and still get their 90% cut.

I still can't bring myself to call the new stadium 'Optus". Even at $16 a seat.

The WAFC are being held responsible. They're the ones bailing the bastards out.

Footy commission wanted a Northern Suburb club and they got one because staying at Leederville was not the future financial and beneficial....and then East Perth Move in???
There's several other WAFL clubs that are broke staying in their backyard and relying on the dwindling old faithful members and the have received money from the commission classed as a loan.
Other clubs are council responsibility and not a corporate company charging for services and placing red tape for profit.
West Perth old faithful members disappeared when we moved up to Joondalup.
The club was not aloud to hang or display Memorabilia in their first years, landlord from hell and still is.

That's all nonsense. Everyone in the WAFL is struggling for money.

West Perth administrators did a really bad job at managing their money and were less than forthright in their reporting of that to the WAFC over several years. It's got nothing to do with a 25 year old ground relocation.

A WAFL club is without a liqour licence is nonsense.

You’d have to be mad or forced to move a club that was 4km or less from the city centre to Joondalup, so madness or force? East Perth managed to move 1km north west ish, I think they’re now North West Perth.

I won't sob for the cardies, but this highlights the inequity of the WAFL...with Subi the fortunate recipients of funds from the wc takeover of subi oval. Even the mighty bulldogs had the benefit of having Freo on hand...ie lighting etc.
Don't get me started on the inequity of the AFL, again.
Bah!!
