I just see him as an average midfielder. He wouldn't want to cost much. Just because he's from W.A. do we have to approach every bloody player whether they're good or not?
He's not greatly skilled in any particular area except perhaps tackling and is not a goalkicker.
Kelly proved that there are just as good players in the WAFL or similar grades than guys like him. Pickett for instance is the same age and skills way above Conca.
Do we need a Reece?

Ok, while the media is up to their tricks again, can we stir up some interest in Jack Martin from the GC Suns. Final year of contract, 2019. Same as Neale. He’s a WA talent that the AFL decided to palm off to the Suns as a 17 year old. Now here’s a bloke who’d be in our best 22. He’ll be 24 next year, right in the sweet spot. Do a swap with Blakely in the HB role, and we won’t even miss Neale’s departure. So what can we offer the Suns to make them think.

Sheriden Sutcliffe and Grey boxed up & bound with a pink ribbon aint gonna get that deal done,

I would trade Apeness or Mcarthy in a flash ...given they'll be looking for forwards, but that deal aint gonna happen either.

I would trade Stephen Hill, but 1) thered be a riot from DL, & 2) it'd be fanciful to suggest that Hill for Jack could happen.

So, unless we go 'really stupid' and give up someone like Langdon or Blakely for him, its a deal that just wont happen.

Puts our "best 22" that you keep banging on about, into perspective really. We've got nothing!

He is a proven player in a quality team.. free agency is a mechanism worth taking advantage of.. keeping your draft picks and adding talent through free agency is the best strategy, this year we might have pick 4,5 and 21.. chance to bring in talented kids plus Conca.. I don’t think anyone would argue Tim Kelly would be better but at what cost? Pick 5.. getting Conca is no brainer

Cletus is right, its elite kicking skills or bust. Lets stand for something. I dont mind Rolys new speed mantra but lets focus on recruiting kicking skills as well. Thats why Im nervous on these King twins. The jury is still out on Daniher in my opinion for that very reason.
Im not sure how good a kick Conca is but Jack Martin is a great kick. Good point Jezza.

If this is true then it appears that we just don't learn. In this craziness to bring home anybody that has an Aunt somewhere in W.A. he might get a game but at what cost to our already slim picks? Matera and Kersten have already been fails and McCarthy still unsure.

Conca is another foot soldier who will make little difference.

It seems when he’s fit he’s in Richmond’s best 22. I don’t know enough about his skills but Richmond are a very skilful side - that probably says something.

There’s another 26 year old running around for Geebung who took 3 clubs to get his body right - Menegola.

Not saying they are the same type of player but some blokes take longer to get their body right/have less bad luck with injuries.

If it’s a free agency play and only costs us some coin and a list spot - not sure what the downside is.

Still not convinced LN is gorn based on Fagan’s ‘we hope he comes to us’ comments today but Conca would help fill a gap there if he does.

When you say it costs us a list spot Jason, what sort of number do you mean? We only have approx #5, then something in the 70s, 90s and 100s.
No sane person would give up #5 for him and I don't think Richmond would be happy with anything in those late numbers.
