Be interested in people's opinions of this chap's value to us. Personally I think hes a good player but 100 games in 8 years of being in the system as a number 6 draft pick is a bit of a worry....

A back up player at best. It's not as if he held Caddy and Prestia out of the team.

I would prefer Kelly to Conca 99 times out of 100.

Having said this, I'd prefer Conca to Sheridan in about the same ratio.

According to afl.com Conca offered deal as a starting midfielder! What the...? Does he want to come home or does he just want a regular game? Not sure about Conca, talented but 26 already. He can come but at what cost...a future round three pick is the best I would offer.

Conca is a pretty solid player and would be a great addition if fully fit. At 26 he's no more than a third round pick for sure. Not that we have a third round pick at present.

What I find interesting is a club that had its list manager based in Melbourne has consistently taken a preference of Victorians over local WA talent now apparently has a "bring home the WA' talent focus.

If you drafted them in the first place they wouldn't have left and you wouldn't be paying a premium now.

We swing like a pendulum down Fremantle way.

I would have to disagree with you lot and say I would be very excited to get him on our list.. He is a free agent so wouldn't cost us anything in the way of draft picks.. I makes sense to get onboard.. He is hard and tough can play half forward or half back.. Great depth player that would cost us nothing really

I really think any recruiting we do henceforth on should revolve completely around 'skill level'.. if a bloke cant kick or be relied upon to hit a bloke on the chest 40m away, or has no idea how to get the ball ,or, what to do with the ball, then he has no place at Fremantle anymore.....No matter what size / potential / where he ia from / draft pick he was

We need to draw a line in the sand, and recruit highly skilled players. Obviously, the ability for said player to 'get on the park' does come into it.

So, that being said, is Conca highly /elite skilled?? ..

I havent seen enough of him during his 8 yr, 100game career, but what I have seen, is that he seems to be a 'hard nosed workhorse' rather than 'elite skills' that we painfully need....

I understand 'Beggers can't be Choosers', and if someone shows an interest in coming home, well, weve got to consider it.

But I'd feel much more comfortable if someone can tell me he is elite skilled....

If he's free then there's probably an empty spot on our list for him but I wouldn't go guaranteeing him games or a long term contract. He'll be 27 next year when he'd play for us and incredibly injury prone. He's always been a bit part player and never a game changer, on the outskirts of the Tigers first 22.

Realistically he will provide some decent depth if the kids get injured or need a rest but he wouldn't be in my starting 22 and would be behind a few other kids I'd like to see get more of an opportunity on the big stage. Blowing salary cap space on him would be a mistake.

So NeaL is Gone, grab draft pick 4 and 22 for him. do not worry about Conca, a great guy good family but not top 22 grade.

grab the King brothers with our two round one pick. chances are one of them will work out. give draft 22 to GWS for Lobb.
